I’m looking for a free webhost to move my Joomla website to from my localhost. I want a webhost that doesn’t use Fantastico as its only method of installation? Any suggestions?

Joomla Pack is the simplest way to move a Joomla site. You won’t need to use Fantastico at all. Install the component, make a back up using the JPA extension (not zip or tar) and then open it on your new host using Kickstart (part of JoomlaPack). It’s almost seamless. I use Hostmonster.com for my host, they have Fantastico too but I didn’t use it.

You can try Web Faction. – it is not free but very cheap indeed. You can pay monthly unlike most other web hosts.
They definitely don’t use Fantastico. Their one-click installer is much better than Fantastico in my opinion because they constantly update the versions of Joomla and other apps.

Good luck.
I recommend one of these。Hostgator is a very good hosting company.Their customer service is also great. You can host your site for just $0.01 for the first month using their coupon code.
