You have two options… Freewebs.com or start knowing html codes.
To start from the basics, you will first need a domain name (www.example.com). Then you will need a web server to host your site for you and make it accessible to the world.
To store all the sites user information you will require some kind of database software (for example MySQL). This database software should be made available to you by the webserver company as part of the hosting service you are paying for.
Then you will have to use some kind of web oriented programming languages (PHP, ASP, some others) to process the user’s information and present it in a useable way.
To make it work:
(X)HTML, javascript, php, mysql and database concepts AT LEAST (and be extremely fluent in all of them!)
AJAX would be an advantage.
To make it pretty:
Excellent knowledge of a graphic design package, ie Photoshop
To make it successful:
An excellent knowledge and experience in Marketing, advertising and public relations…
Definitely not for beginners. Most so-called “professionals” can’t achieve it.
